Vacation... Long Version: Chapter Eight

Chapter 8: Saturday September 14, 2013

Woke up around 8 or 9am, N and I got ready and went down to breakfast. I've never stayed in a Hampton Inn before, so I didn't know what to expect for breakfast…but the last thing I expected was a self-service restaurant, complete with paper plates and cups. The food was good though…we made our own waffles! I got some fruit yogurt, waffles and orange juice for breakfast.
My uncle and aunt met us for breakfast a while later, then after we were done, we left the hotel to go to Niagara Falls State Park.

The weather was still very cold outside, and when we arrived to the park, we walked around. The first thing I saw was a beautiful rainbow coming out of the river…I couldn't believe how beautiful the scenery was. N and I went to explore the park further, and reached an observation site where you get to see the falls up close.

That moment, I forgot all about the cold weather and all I could see and hear were the magnificent waterfalls…it was breath taking! We were there for a long time, just taking pictures of the falls and the rainbow…I can still hear the roar of the water and feel the mist on my skin…

Of course, no trip to Niagara Falls would be complete without going on the Maid of the Mist boat tour. We got on the boat and went so close to the falls. I could barely keep my eyes open from the mist…it was amazing! You get to experience how powerful these waterfalls are…how gorgeous and unreal they look! I was amazed to the point where my face was hurting from smiling so broad.

After we were done with the tour, N and I stayed at the park while my uncle and wife went to rest. We walked around, and came across a man selling native American souvenirs. I ended up buying a beautiful dream catcher, which is hanging above my bed at the moment.

We continued our walk, looking for souvenirs, and buying some really cute things. One of the things I bought was a good luck charm; a clover with a lady bug which I immediately put in my purse for good luck.

After spending some time visiting different souvenir shops, we decided to go back to the hotel. For once on this trip, I was actually starving and could not wait to have dinner.

For some reason, I still don’t know why, N started singing Wanna Be for the Spice Girls and dancing on the bed…while I turned on the TV, flipping through the channels….that was a really funny moment…

So, anyway, after getting ready for dinner; my uncle and aunt decided that we should take the car instead of walking…that was the best decision ever! Even though the restaurant was near.
We were going to have dinner at Hard Rock Café, one of my favorite restaurants...
The food was amaaaazing! I had the best burger ever… and I do have a mental list raking burgers…I'm weird…I know. They are my favorite food after all….

Later on, we decided to go and see the falls at was beautiful. The waterfalls were all lit up in different was gorgeous!

After taking in the beauty of the falls at night, we decided to try our luck again at Seneca Niagara Casino…and this time; the lucky charm I bought worked! I ended up winning almost $200 that night! And for once, I decided to cash out instead of lose it all and treated both N and myself for some ice-cream from Cold Stone Creamery; while my uncle and aunt were still at the casino.

A while later, we met up with my uncle and aunt, and went back to the hotel to sleep, as we have a long drive back to New Jersey the next day…

Little did we know that there is a surprise waiting for us when we arrived back to NJ…stay tuned to find out what it was!
