Backstreet's Back.. Dubai!

Last night was EPIC! It was a DREAM COME TRUE!

I got to see my favorite band of all time...Backstreet Boys...perform live in concert in Dubai!
What made it even more special was that last night was their 25th anniversary as a band!

Ever since I was really young, the first music video I remember seeing was Get Down...and since then, I have been a huge fan of Backstreet Boys...My room was decorated from floor to ceiling with BSB posters, I had every album ever released (still do), I had a necklace with letters that spelled 'Backstreet Boys', name it, I had it.

I even once dreamt that they came to my birthday party.... this will have to remain a dream though...(sigh)

I never thought I would be lucky enough to see my favorite band perform live in concert...

On Feb 19th I was in the tram on my way home...scrolling down Facebook as I usually do...I came across a post that said "Backstreet Boys Live in Dubai"...I had to read that several times to make sure I …

Life in Dubai...5 Months Later

It's been a long while since I posted anything to my blog...that seems to be the trend for me...My last post was almost 5 months ago...

Life has been pretty busy since I moved to Dubai, but in a good way...After 5 months in a new city, I finally feel somewhat settled.

The first two months were extremely hectic with me trying to settle into my new job, understand the processes, getting to know the people I work with and on top of that, trying to find an apartment to live.

Finding an apartment was not as easy as I imagined it would be...My company provided accommodation for my first month in the country, but after that month was over I had to find another place to stay. I couldn't move into an apartment right away, as I had to wait until my residency permit was issued; so the best option was to stay at a hotel. So after the first month was over, I moved to a hotel opposite the one I was staying at for another month.

The search for an apartment was not an easy task...I felt like …

A New Chapter In My Life

I have just started a new chapter in my life....
For the past five years, I have been trying so hard to move to Dubai, and for some unknown reasons, it never worked out....until now :)
I always believed that things happen for a reason, and everything will work out no matter how much time it takes. You only have to believe that it will work out!
On November 16th, I packed my bags and relocated to the gorgeous city of Dubai. I'm still in the process of settling into my new life, trying to figure out my next steps. It is a very exciting adventure for me...everything is city, new job, new life, new people...
My first day in the country was very interesting...I arrived in the afternoon and after collecting my luggage, I took a taxi to the cargo center to pick up the rest of my belongings. Those who know me, know how much stuff I traveling with one suitcase was not even an option. I shipped 4 suitcases (containing only 1/6th of my closet) via cargo....anyway, the tax…

The First Music Video I Have Ever Seen

This is probably the first music video that I have ever seen...or remember seeing. Since that day I've been (and still am) a Backstreet Boys fan :)

Today during my morning drive to work, Imagine by John Lennon comes on the radio. It's one of my all time favorite songs.

It brought back memories of when I travelled to NYC over the summer, and my cousin & I made it a point visit John Lennon's memorial at Central Park. We also passed by The Dakota building where Lennon had lived until his untimely death. He was shot right outside of his building.

Below are some pics I took of both, the memorial and the building.

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join us. And the world will be as one" - John Lennon - Imagine (1971)

New York, New York!

On July 29th, I had my bags ready, passport in hand and was off to the airport to spend three wonderful weeks in beautiful NYC.

My airline of choice...Emirates Airlines :) The best airline in the world for 2016.
I boarded the luxurious A380 straight from the Business Class lounge at Dubai International Airport, and was led to my seat by a friendly flight attendant. I was ready to begin the most relaxing 14 hour flight to New York. My seat reclined to a full bed (with a seat mattress, comfy pillow and thick blanket/quilt, of course), Mimosa in hand and Arrow on TV...what more could a girl ask for?

I arrived to JFK airport fourteen hours later, relaxed and refreshed. My driver was waiting for me at the arrivals hall, ready to take me to my destination.

On Saturday July 30th, I was invited to a bachelorette party. A black stretch limo picked us up from the house,  champagne chilling inside the car and we were on our way to dinner. Our first stop was Tao in uptown Man…
