Another Random Memory

It seems random memories are popping into my mind at totally random times...today, as I was waiting for the valet to get my car at the mall this memory suddenly crossed my mind, for no reason at all.....

It was May 2005 when I was a freshman at university. I was sitting in my dorm room with my roommate and one of our friends waiting to register for sophomore year's classes. Before the registration period, we had to meet our advisers to discuss the courses we're going to take, check if everything is fine for the current year before registering for next year's classes and to get the PIN required for registration.
Anyway, I did all those things and I got my PIN from my adviser, and everything was fine. I was just sitting my dorm room waiting for the clock to strike 3pm so I can register for my courses.

It was 3 pm...time for registration...I tried to enter my PIN code, but it didn't work! I tried it again and again and again but with no luck. I was freaking out because I was sure the classes I wanted to take were already full. I looked at my friends, and I was almost screaming "My PIN is not working....what should I do? I'm gonna miss the registration". My friends tried to calm me down and told me to talk to my adviser.

I suddenly bolted out of the door, running down the stairs and out of the dorm trying to reach my adviser's office which was located in the Chemistry Building....all the way on the other side of campus. It was a 15-20 minute walk, but I was running as fast as I could. And it really helped that I was wearing my Nike shoes! Anyway, half way through, I was near the football field which over looks the sea, I suddenly look down at my Nike shoes and this idea pops into my mind "This would make a good Nike ad"! What a perfect timing...instead of focusing on getting to my adviser's office, I was thinking about advertising (no wonder why I chose marketing!).

Anyway, I finally reached the Chemistry Building, and my adviser's office was located on the 5th floor. Luckily, the elevator came quickly, but by the time I reached his office, I was out of breath "My....PIN....is.....not...working". I think my adviser was laughing on the inside on how I must have looked like, I was pretty sure that my face was red from running and my hair was messed up!
It seems that my PIN has changed, so I took the revised PIN, and ran all the way to the elevator. I needed to get to my room fast so I could get all my courses. However, the elevator was not coming as fast as I would have liked, so I ran down 5 flights of stairs and continued my run back to my dorm room.

By the time I reached my room, I was ready to collapse...but I had to register my classes. So I entered the new PIN and registered all my classes, then collapsed on my bed!

After a few minutes, I looked at my roommate and told her "You know, I could have called my adviser instead of running all the way to the other end of campus like a maniac". Now why didn't I think of that?! Apparently I'm still wondering the same thing...LOL!
